Title: Radar Based Ballistic Missile Classification and Tracking

 

Abstract:

The lecture will discuss radar monitoring solutions for Ballistic Missile Defence systems. Particularly, radar return models for warheads and boosters and decoys will be examined with focus on the unique micro-motion characteristics these targets exhibit. Furthermore, classification frameworks utilising micro-Doppler and High Resolution Range Profile (HRRP) representations will be discussed with emphasis on the invariant properties of the image moments based feature extraction methods.Finally a whole lifetime tracking  approach will be presented utilising BM phase discrimination and particle filters.
